It's part of a competition organized by TI-RE Collective. It was an open call for creating book based on a single sentence. It sounded interesting so I joined in. The book I chose was one of my childhood favourites - "My family and other animals" by Jerald Durrell.
The sentence was: "But after the dark bark of the night had peeled, a new day was waiting for us - bright and colorful as a child's drawing, and the same as it - a little fantastic."
The topic of childhood aways excited me - mystical times of adventures, dreams and reality mixed in one. So naturaly decided to use mixed technique for this edition - photo collage with drawings and bright paints. The cover are made from wooden boards with collages.
The book is all about the forgotten memories of swimming in the sky and flying underwater.
